Today, I'm bringing you with me on my eye-opening first 24 hours in Tunisia, where I tour the historical sites that tell the story of Rome vs. Carthage, visit the markets in the old Medina, and see the beautiful seaside village of Sidi Bou Said.
This is my first day here in Tunis as a foreigner, and I was really excited to give you my first impressions of this amazing country, while sharing some of the historical facts that I learned, as well.

My family did a Portland, ME trip when I was in high school and it was a lot of fun. We did a boat trip with local lobster fishermen. It was interesting to learn about that! Definitely a cozy place. We also love Portsmouth, NH. It vhas so much charm. I've lived in NE for a long time and I'm not sure I'll ever leave 😅 I enjoy living in the North East in general. We've done trips to Virginia, NY, NJ, Delaware, NC and more! There's so much to do here honestly a large portion of my vacations are domestic.

perfect review of this train which i personally as a Romanian massively dislike!! It's a huge amount of money for no good service, and this is most of Romania, especially the seaside! I have to add that at the border there's so much control bcs of the persons that try to illegally enter Europe through Romania......so it makes very much sense the time staying at the Hungarian border, as well as people removed from the train, sorry.

you missed a couple of lighthouses that were technically within reach... though I am not sure how you collected the stamps for those... one, there was a lighthouse in Plymouth on the side of Plymouth village (exiting the harbor) that you could go up to, another is a historic lighthouse towards the end of the corn-exchange... that's a fairly easy walk from Quincy market where you were

as a former Bostonian, I'll say, to me, one of the spookiest places in Boston (at least railway related) is Boylston on the Green line... there are some old trams parked there, and to me, they always felt like real ghosts of trolleys of days gone past, leading a half living existence in the underground netherworld... the spotchy old yellow lighting really helps with that feel, as does the fact the station is totally illogical, its entrance being nowhere near the two stations on either side (which exit within sight of each other)

Very nice report on Tunis. However, the passage about child sacrifices during the Punic period is false. All archaeological research tends to prove that this is a myth of the Romans to sully the image of their rival Carthage. In order to rally other peoples to their causes and make them accept their new domination. The Romans rewrote history for their benefit. And except stories told by Greek and Roman enemies, no tangible archaeological record proves these allegations. Finally, Flaubert added a layer to this myth with his book Salambô. But in fact, he helped reinforce this cliché of the barariness of the Carthaginians for the purposes of the novel, without any scientific proof. I'm sad that this guide takes this myth and makes it show it as a reality. Any historian would be shocked to hear what he said.
